Presence, Truth, Joy, Peace, Justice.

Many of us have felt the longing for presence in a world of absence, truth instead of uncertainty, joy instead of burdens, peace instead of hatred and polarization, and justice instead of injustice. We’re not the first cultural moment to have this experience. Israel was there, too—until God spoke through an ancient prophet named Isaiah about how he would fulfill those longings. No matter what you’re longing for, in the end we’re all longing for Advent—the arrival of God in the person of Jesus.
